It was a good suprise and it was due to Ben who planned and coordinated all of it!
We were lucky to be there at a time when we could see everyone, at least for a little bit. We only spent one day with Pat and Ruth and family, but we had a GREAT time skim boarding with Parker, catching sand crabs with Taylor, playing in the water with Cloe, and poking Baby James's face (Maia did most of the poking)! We also had fun visiting with Cindy and Nate and Carter, who we rarely see. Maia does not mind seeing them very often, though. She is petrified of Carter! Everytime she saw him, she would immediately stop playing and run to Mommy! It was very silly, especially since Carter is very pleasant and friendly. Oh, well. The people that we enjoyed spending time with the most were Rick and Joan. We were fortunate to be able to spend some two on three time with them at a fantastic lunch with them at the old Pottery Shack in Laguna.
We all had a blast running in the waves together. Maia would chase the wave and then a wave would chase her right back. She would laugh and laugh! She also swam in the small blow-up pool every chance she got making herself soaked more than once. Ben was happy that he got a very cool fossil! Unfortunately, the corner of it broke off! Hopefully, the rest of it will arrive unbroken.
