Fishing and more

Ben and I decided to take Maia fishing for the first time. Maia practiced casting with her pink and purple pole (not much variety) to which she was a natural. She can cast from our hallway all the way to our piano (about 12 feet). Pretty good for a two-year-old. Ashley lends this natural ability to her family (I mean--have you ever seen Ben cast ;) ).

So, we went up to Silver Lake in Brighton. It was a cold morning with frost on the trail. Maia had a lot of fun casting and reeling. When she got bored, Ashley would show her the sites around the lake. We saw minks bathing in the water, ground and tree squirrels who kept trying to eat the rocks that Maia was 'feeding' them, a chipmunk, ducks, cool climbing rocks, and more. She also learned that light things float and dense things do not.

We could see many fish, but we did not catch any. Maybe another day...

What a fun day. Maia is so cute. Carter loves to fish with Nate. He holds the net and catches it when Nate reels one in.
