Last night, we attempted a camping trip. Unfortunately, there were no spaces despite the internet's claimed availablility. We still had a great time playing in the water and fishing at Jordanelle. Maia was demonstrating what she has learned in her first swimming class, particularly holding her breath holding technique, bobbing up and down up to five times! Akai is getting good at throwing rocks and casting his fishing pole.
On our return trip, we found the ramp to I-215 closed due to a fire from a wrecked semi. The disturbing thing is that the fire was right across the freeway from our neighborhood and wind normallyblows westward out of Parley's. We overreacted a little due to the last time we were evacuated from our house because of a wrecked semi, but it turned out ok.
Still, I couldn't help thinking about what we would take with us if we had to leave our home. Here were some of things on my list:
watches (of course) and some other jewelry
pictures
computers
passports, sscards, and birth certificates
pills
a few changes of clothes
pets
Do you think we could collect all of that in 10 minutes or less? I am doubtful. Maybe it's time to put a few of things closer together. If there weren't so many animals.....
