HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAIA!
On the 14th, we had a family celebration with the three of us enjoying fondue because Maia really likes to 'dip' her food in anything and everything! It was not as messy as you would think.
The next day, Maia awoke to her parents spoiling her with hugs and kisses and "Happy Birthday" exclamations and one present sitting on the floor in the kitchen (because it is the first room she sees after she comes upstairs. She was very excited and wanted to open it immediately. After opening it, she realized that there were several more presents in a trail to the ultimate gift, a tricycle!
When Maia saw her bike (as we call it) she said, "Hey!" and walked toward it with a sly grin on her face. She was very excited and has been wanting a bike for a long time. We opened up the rest of her presents and then ate breakfast.
Then, it was time to go swimming with her friends, Addie and Alex. Maia LOVES swimming and we had a great time! It was also a secret plan to get her worn out so that she would take a long nap and be happy later.
When Maia woke up, our friends and family had began to gather at the house to wish our little munchkin a happy day. We had ice cream cupcakes and the highly anticipated 'Seal Cake.' (Maia has been asking for a baby seal cake since we told her that her birthday was coming up 2 months ago). The kids played while the adults got a little crazy with the PS3 SingStar! We aren't sure who had the better time!
Overall, it was a SUPER day! We are lucky to have Maia in our lives!!!

We have been waiting so long for these pictures to come up! We absolutely loved looking at them. Wish we could have been there.
