The rental car was returned yesterday. We had a couple fun-filled days with it. As you know, on Wednesday, we visited
the North Shore, but we will need to fill you in on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, we did our laundry and went grocery shopping. It doesn't sound like much fun, but you wouldn't believe how
good it feels to get out of our place and do some simple errands. While in Manoa Shopping Center, we went to our favorite
sandwich restaurant, Bonacasa's. The servers are mean, but the food is very "YUMMY" (As one of the customers bellowed after
one of their famous reuben sandwiches). After our meal and errands, we went drove to Blockbuster. As it is, we are walking
there once a week and it is 1.5 miles each way, so we were happy to have transportation. We rented Amityville something-or-other,
The Interpretter, and Crash. (All turned out to be pretty good shows). Later in the day we went on a drive to....where else,
KOKONUTS! We ate our shaved ice treats while looking out onto the boat dock located near there. Then we went to look at the stars
over the ocean. We had the cliffs to ourselves and it was quite romantic.

Friday, we awoke early to head off to Makapuu, or 'Big Wave Beach.' Again we had the place to ourselves, but it was largely because
of the very strong undercurrent and large, frequent wave sets. With our limited swimming muscles and lack of fins, we only dared to go
out into the surf approximately 5 yards. Even at that distance we struggled to maintain balance with the strength of the waves. We didn't
spend long at the beach because we had forgotten to buy a couple of heavy and/or bulky and/or melty things at the store, so we went off
to buy those and rush home to change. We were rushing because we wanted to meet with Dr. Kraus, a herpetologist at the Bishop Museum.
Unfortunately, he was unable to be contacted by the security at the museum and we could not wait around because we had to return the car, which
we did after one last stop at Borders (where Ben bought Zombie survival guide). We successfully delivered the car and returned home to
create a new terrarium for some of the frogs that were not fit enough to ship to Utah.

We ended our busy day by watching one of our rented movies.
This was supposed to be relaxing, but in the middle of the movie, Ben decided to go to the bathroom. We paused the show and Ashley sat on the
couch and waited...she heard a bang on the toilet and thought to herself, "What is that goofy boy up to?" About a minute later, she watched Ben
stumble around the corner and started giggling. Ben often acts like a zombie so his stumbling was not at all unusual and quite funny, until he fell on
the bed unconscious! Ashley ran over to him and started shaking his head and yelling at him to wake up. A few seconds later he did wake up with
a terrible pain around his right eye, which happened to be swelling. Ashley got him some ice and did the usual checks for concussion with Ben
laughing at her and the situation in general. We guess what had happened was that Ben stood up too quickly and fainted in the bathroom, hitting his head, arm, and back. How he
reached the living room with garbage hanging out of his hand and mouth, we will never know...

This morning, Ben woke up with back pain.....
