You probably think that we have not been writing in this journal because we have nothing interesting to say since Stacy left... While that may be true, we have been pretty busy.
With Stacy's departure came the rain (the two weeks that Stacy was here were the driest that we have yet experienced in Hawaii). This meant perfect weather for frogs! Plus, we were
really excited to get up to the arboretum again after so long! So in the last two days we have searched for frogs, released eight froglets that we raised from tadpoles, and taken wash
samples from a clutch of eggs. We have also been playing games and just basically getting back to normal.
This evening we made dinner and ate at Waikiki beach while watching the sunset and listening to a local band play soft rock from the 80s and 90s. The sunsets out here are among the
prettiest that we have ever seen. We then stuck around the beach and watched the stars come out until the fireworks started (paid for by Hilton to go off every Friday night). It
was a wonderful night.
