we'd post a couple that Ben took this morning. First, a picture of the view from
the bus stop...not a bad view for a bus stop, eh?
It's also been a long time since we've posted any pictures of frogs! So, here's
one of today's better pictures:
After the photo session, we went to Manoa shopping center. It is our favorite place
to shop and we should have posted pictures of that place but we don't carry the camera
everywhere.
While there, we mailed Ashley's insurance company some stuff (there is a post office at
the shopping center). What a pain in the butt! They need medical records, and a bunch
of other crap! We spent nearly an hour copying the papers and sending them off! Of course,
it would have been less but we broke the first copy machine (We left without telling anyone...)
Next, we went to our favorite sandwich place, Bonacasa's! After our sandwiches, we walked to
Safeway and did some much needed grocery shopping! We ran out of food! We didn't even have
rice to cook! We carried back a lot of groceries and hopefully it'll be the last time that
we have to haul all of our groceries like that!
One interesting note about our safeway experience. While we were getting our groceries, we
swung by the egg section (we are out of eggs, too). When we looked, the racks were 90% empty!
We thought there was a massive egg shortage or something...there were only 2 packages of the kind
we get left! Have you ever been to a grocery store that was sold out of eggs??? We looked
around at the prices and saw the reason: A buy one get one free sale on eggs! It seems that we are
not the only people who are struggling to afford groceries here as every time there is a sale on
ANYTHING, it looks like a hurricane preparedness video!
After checking out and paying our $95 grocery bill (cheaper than we usually pay, believe it or not) we
realized how much more we would be paying if we didn't have our Safeway card. Each time we go, we save
at least $30!
