It's a MIRACLE!!! Our car, affectionately called 'Greenie,' was found! Our landlord yelled through our window
for Ben to go to his apartment and speak to the police (apparently, the police station does not have the ability to make
long distance phone calls so our landlord offered us the use of his local phone line). The woman that Ben spoke with
informed him that the car was found, but sadly, inoperable. We are not positive what 'inoperable' means and we probably won't
find out until we hear from our insurance. Hopefully, it is something that can be easily fixed so that we can get Greenie back.
Otherwise, the plan is to rent a car (maybe twice) for three days at a time. That way we can efficiently run much needed errands
and have a little fun too.
Luckily, we were not planning to rent a car this weekend because Hurricane Kenneth is moving towards Hawaii with full force. The
wind and rain have already reached high levels and it is expected to get worse as the weekend continues. But don't worry, the storm
is not expected to actually hit any of the islands (although, this morning there was a 30% chance that it would). It is just going
to move past us and create flash floods and big waves. It is amazing how anxious people get about the storm though. People who have
lived here for a long time have experienced storms like this and get pretty worried. Others just get excited about seeing some lightning
(which is not very frequent around here). There are a couple nice things about the rain, it is nice and cool and we've seen some gorgeous
rainbows. If you are really worried about us, you can track Kenneth's movements here.
We were inspired to think about some things to do if we are stuck inside for the rest of the weekend and one of them is a very cool
quiz that we thought you would all like. Here is the link: What kind of frog are you?
Hoping not to be blown away...
