We don't know how our journal seems to all of you, but it seems that our journal has got a little bit boring lately. We believe there are a couple of reasons for this.


1. As we do more here, we become less excited about new things.


2. No one is as excited about frogs as we are, so it is difficult to be excited about things other than them.

3. Ashley has been working six days a week for the last couple of weeks (only for a few hours every morning) and that seems to eat up a lot of time that we could be out exploring the island.

4. We have not been going out of the house as much because of our car problems (hopefully, at an end today).


We promise to spice it up a little in the future. For today, instead of talking about work, laundry, groceries, measuring, etc., we will talk about something else that we have noticed about the people that live here.




We have met several foreign-born locals and there is one similarity between them all. (Alright, maybe two, but the second doesn't really count). The majority of them never intended on living here for a long period of time. Most
of them moved here temporarily (like us). Then, they moved back home. Once back in their life-long surroundings, they realized what they were missing and moved back to Hawaii to stay! We find this interesting because we think that most people
would want to move back to their families and friends. So what is it about Hawaii that makes people abandon all that they have ever known??? Could it be the Valley of Rainbows (where we live), the beautiful beaches, the warm weather, the frogs....
We are not sure, although, we do know there is something very appealing about this place and it is going to be hard tearing ourselves away in December!

P.S. For those who are interested, the other reason people move here is because they are in the military. We don't think that they should be included because they generally have to move where they are told to move.
