It was the first morning in a week that Ashley did not have to work in the morning so we woke up early and headed up to the arboretum to do a little research. We observed some frogs, caught some frogs (although, two slipped out of our
grasp), rescued some tadpoles, and fed the frogs that we already have. (The mind-boggeling thing is that Ashley was wearing a sweatshirt during all of this as you can see below! Crazy Girl!) We are up to 29 frogs and 78 tadpoles!!! Wow, we hadn't realized that we have so many! We are planning on shipping the frogs off to the U of U tomorrow, hopefully, we
will have a complete 30 by then. The most exciting event of the morning was catching an almost translucent tadpole! He is amazing,as you can see from the picture below (that Ashley insisted on taking). Another exciting event was spotting a
gross spider!!! This spider was about 4 to 5 inches leg to leg and, worse yet, it was carrying a sack of eggs!! Everytime Ashley thinks about it she becomes a little sick and gets the chills. You can get a similar reaction by looking at the picture

After working all morning and into the afternoon, we decided to go for a drive to get a long-awaited shaved ice. You may be thinking,"a drive? A drive to get a shaved ice?" But do not be quick to judge. This shaved ice is like
no other! It is as soft as snow and full of flavoring. We were going to take a picture to show you all, but we ate it too fast! You still may not believe us and that is your decision. Although, this may sway you...
While we were there a woman came in and started talking to the owner. She was telling the owner how she had moved, but took a longer drive to get a shaved ice and she had even brought her visitors from the mainland to try it out. It is really quite good!
We continued our drive up the east side of Oahu, just for the scenery. You can see below how beautiful it is! We consider ourselves extremely lucky to be living in such an awesome place! After the drive, we ate a fabulous dinner of chicken taco's (as you already know
if you are a faithful reader it is hard to get good mexican out here, so we have to make the Americanized kind ourselves). Unfortunately, the saffron rice that we had with it induce a headache in Ben. He seems to be on a run of them lately, having one a day for almost a week.
This is a usual monthly occurance, but sad nonetheless (especially since the same day that he got his first one, we were commenting that he had not had a headache in a long time! Luckily, he was able to have a nice conversation with his mom, dad, and aunt via webcam and instant
message. We really enjoyed seeing/talking with them and are very thankful for technology that allows us to be able to see/talk with them. Thanks, dad and mom! Love you!
